BAND~

I'm not tired after long hours of band practice today. Perhaps it was because I slept for 16hours consectively yesterday, I'm feeling kinda energetic now? Well, maybe...
Oh anyway, I must say today RPWS band practice was awesome. Though we doesn't have the whole full band with us, we managed to complete all three movements of First Suite! Yes, did I mentioned in the last entry that we are playing First Suite? I've been anticipating for this piece when I heard TKGS's version! It was fabulous I tell you.
Their notes, articulation and intonation is FANTASTIC! Doubt me? I'm not kidding, I'm hearing it and blogging simultaneously! Miss Sia's band... those were the days lah. To think back, I was actually proud to be a JYSB band member the last time. Proud playing 'Symphonic Paraphrase' and proud playing the third trombone part!
Actually it's really a pity that RPWS trombone section is nowhere similar to our trombone family I used to have back few years ago.
As I was reminscing with Ms Choong Shuyi about how fun it was being JYSB trombonist, being part of JYSB band member. We still remember the time when we were supposed to play hard for our SYF choice pieces but we ended up sharing ghost stories.
I still remember vividly once, when we were chatting and telling ghost stories, I had to pretend for the whole section that we are actually diligently playing our trombone. Guess what I did? I had to play a small section of a chorale and then continue with what we are doing! Muahaha.
Though we may not be doing the right thing, but I guess these are how we managed to keep our section together! And thank god, during syf03 we did ourselves proud.
I still remember the first time when I joined band, I was behaving quite non-chalently as I wasnt sure how band works until I saw how serious my seniors in playing their music! I began to go for concerts and listen to band songs. Go #bandmusic in IRC to hunt for songs which our band was playing... Roar.. Now I'm missing all these already.
I still remember the first time we had a farewell session with the trombone section and Mido. We ordered pizza, Sheerui went out to get drinks, then we ended up eating at the space in between our AVA and band room. We even put chili on the pizza and passed around the whole section and all of us must at least have a bite of it! Muahaha!
Next celebration was Sheerui's birthday! We celebrated her birthday at the first floor of flat. Sharon was there as well. Remember quite vividly as we were throwing each other's shoes! muahahaha.
Next celebration was actually the BBQ held by trombone and trumpet section at Pasir Park. I remembered that time I scared those seniors off. Just imagine someone who wore a monster mask, riding on a bicycle... And "RAR" straight at your face! Muahaha!
We also have band camps, speechdays, exchange programmes and many events which we can spend our time together as a band.
I think if not for band, I guess I won't be what I am today.
roar, I wish there will be more trombonists joining RPWS.. :( Hope I'll find back that feeling I longed for... ROAR..
