RPWS band practice.
Thursday, January 18, 2007

Yeah, as usual went for RPWS band practice. I think I'm back to the enthusiatic little boy when I was secondary one. So fond of going to JYSB band practice to the extent of thinking to go school just for the band and not the lessons. Oh well, I doesnt want to talk about JYSB anymore, now that I might be joining RPWS next year, so it's best for me to commit myself fully on RPWS. (:

Mentioned about JYSB, Emma asked me whether am I interested in helping her out to organise a 'motivation course' for the JYSB members. Frankly speaking, I'm okay with the idea of helping her out actually. Not because I am good at scolding them and making them cry one by one. Anyway as I was saying I'm okay with it but the problem is, whether it works for them is still a unknown answer. Not like we doesn't know the members well, but seriously, I've thought that even if we help them, will they appreciate our help? Don't talk about whether they appreciate or not. Just look at them, do you think they will be motivated? It's the attitude! No matter how much you encourage them to play, if they don't put our words into actions, it's useless. Sorry to be a snub over here. But if that's the case, I rather back out and use my time wisely on something useful.

Okay. Enough of that, if not I'm going to write 1000 words essay.

Anyway, RPWS band practice today was disasterous for me I would say. Firstly, I was playing the euphonium for combine. To say the truth, I was seriously playing crap at first. Thank god, I was very patient with the instrument. Or else, I'd be cursing because of the screwed up valves. But I think it's slightly better compared to the last time I used it. And ya, my rhythm seriously need to polish up! I think if I'm playing euphonium, one day of sectional on Alvamar overture won't be a big problem for me. As for Symphonic Movements. Darn it, it's not my cup of tea. Being a band member from JYSB, with no exposure to this type of songs, it's definitely hell when we get to play this type of repertoire. Of course, I was struggling and faking my way through during the song. Yes, rhythm and sight reading is really bad. Actually, when we were playing the song, I thought of just stop playing and study the score lah. -___- I really look up to those Yuhua band members who managed to dominate that piece and clinching a GOLD for their SYF. Kudos to them.

Towards the end of RPWS band practice, the tension was really bad. I think it's good to control your emotions. Though you might be pissed because of the disagreement with other people. Instead of being pissed, it's better to simmer down and talk in a polite manner so that your members won't unhappy with your attitude. Afterall, I think it's really fortunate to see RPWS having almost a full band size, because it's not really compulsory for them to be commit themselves in band anyway. As I was chatting with Shijuan, we both think that the committee though might have made a mistake but at least they did the correct thing now by clarifying with the members. (:

Wooot. But sadly to see that, the band is split up into many groups. Something which I've seen in JYSB too. RPWS aint that bad, at least the committee aren't too arrogant, they still mix around with the members. Hahaha.

Argh~ It's really nice to see all the members bond together. From then, reaching their goal won't be a difficult task.
